Caryn Effron

Caryn Effron is a Senior Director of Ackman-Ziff, which she joined in 2000. Her responsibilities include originating, structuring and closing over $1 billion of commercial real estate transactions. She has represented institutional clients as well as local owners and developers and has originated debt, mezzanine and equity for numerous commercial property types including residential, hospitality, self storage and office product.

Prior to joining the firm, Caryn was a principal at Citadel Real Estate, a boutique real estate financial advisory company. Before her work with Citadel, Caryn operated a mortgage brokerage business in partnership with Pembroke Capital. Earlier in her career, Caryn worked for GKN Realty, where she focused on acquisition and syndication work, ultimately launching a management company for the firm's portfolio of approximately one million square feet of retail and multi-family properties. Caryn is currently on the board of Say Yes to Education, a national not-for-profit education foundation committed to dramatically increasing high school and college graduation rates for our nations inner-city youth.

Caryn earned an M.B.A from New York University and a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan.

Caryn lives in New York City with her husband and three children.
