This TIME article sums up basically everything that I’ve been reading about women and their increasing financial power. For every two men who graduate from college or get a higher degree, there are three women, and an increasing number of women are out-earning their husbands. Even though most women still earn less than men and suffer the motherhood penalty, corporations are noticing the shift in spending power to women, and adjusting their marketing strategies accordingly. If the graph below is correct, then even the NFL is on board with the trend. If that means that the Superbowl will have more female-centric commercials this year, then maybe I’ll finally tune in to the game.
